Checkup and Care

Corrections

We correct errors on checkupandcare. If a factual claim on a reference page is wrong, we will correct it rather than delete the content. This ensures the record of what was published is clear and the updated information is available.

When a correction is made, a note is added at the foot of the article. This note states what was amended and the date of the change. It does not alter the original text invisibly. This applies to substantive corrections, such as an incorrect diagnostic criterion, a wrong dosage, or an inaccurate disease progression timeline. Minor typographical errors are fixed without a note.

To report an error, please provide the full article address and quote the exact claim you believe is incorrect. Explain the correction with a reliable source, such as a veterinary body guideline or a recent peer-reviewed study. We review all submissions.

We aim to process substantive correction requests within five working days. Some verifications, particularly for complex medical information, may take longer. You will receive a confirmation when your report is logged and an outcome when the review is complete.

Facts on reference pages are also updated when the world changes, such as when a veterinary authority revises a treatment protocol or new research redefines a condition's prevalence. These are not corrections to a past error but necessary updates. Such changes are made with an explanatory note at the article foot to maintain clarity for readers relying on past versions.
